AST 113: TELESCOPES AND TECHNIQUES

We will learn all about small telescopes: how they work, how to use them, and how to find your way around the night sky. We will discuss professional telescopes and their instruments and learn how astronomers discover the properties of astronomical objects by observing the light that comes from them. We will take celestial photographs using CCD cameras and learn about astronomical digital image processing. This class is designed for science and math majors.
